About Me
Dear Parents,
I want to welcome you to English as a Second Language. My name is Mrs. Michelle Sherman and I am the E.S.L. teacher at Robertsville. I have been working in the district for over 20 years. I will be planning many different and exciting lessons and activities to enhance your child’s academic skills in English. I will be working on the students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking abilities that will improve their academic success in the classroom. I will be teaching lessons in English writing and usage, literature, science and social studies. The ESL students will use an online program called Imagine Learning. This program will help me create individualized lessons for your child. I will also be teaching American culture, as well as, instilling a sense of pride in the students’ own culture, heritage, and bilingual abilities.
The E.S.L. program offers a Family Literacy program in the evening. This program is designed to support a partnership between school and parents/guardians. The various activities that are offered are designed to strengthen language and literacy skills.
We are looking forward to an academically, socially, and
culturally successful year. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. You can reach me at (732) 972-2044 or feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or send a note with your child.
Sincerely,
Michelle Sherman
