Math is fun! We will take the stress out of math and concentrate on the "Why?" rather than the "How?"
It is imperative that 5th grade math students have basic multiplication, addition, and subtraction facts MEMORIZED.
Digital resources are a big part of our math program. ST Math and IXL will be used on a regular basis. Students are expected to spend approximately one hour each week on these digital resources.
ST Math is a district mandated program and an important part of our curriculum. It is a brain based program that allows students to explore math concepts at their own pace. ST Math should be incorporated into the regular homework routine.
ST Math can be accessed through Clever.
IXL will also be used to introduce and practice important math skills. Teachers will assign IXL on a regular basis. However, students may also choose to practice on their own. IXL can be accessed through Clever.
